The academics are rigorous, more so than many public schools and definitely prepares them for college. They are engaging in the classroom with discussions and participation versus just listening and taking notes. The teachers treat them with respect and the classroom environment is more in line with a mature college environment versus the policing that happens at public schools. We are in a highly ranked public school district so it was hard to decide to send him here but so glad we made that decision. He has thrived here academically compared to his public school experience. Parent: Oratory has been a great experience for my son. KPS has sent students to many top institutions in the world. The school should have much higher rankings given how well it prepares well rounded and intelligent future leaders. You can tell students have a sense of pride in what they are learning. The student’s vocabulary, confidence, and pose as they elegantly navigate a zoom call full of families is impressive. I am constantly amazed and impressed by the middle schoolers who facilitate whole school meetings. Confidence, speaking in front of others, is a skill that is evident in all of children that attend Blue School. She sits in front of her class with ease to share her self-portrait or maker station project. In just one year, we have seen her become confident and outspoken. Our daughter tends to be shy and reserved. Since the beginning of the school year, she has come home and voiced that she loves her new school. Without hesitation we plan to keep her at Blue School another year! Our daughter has grown and blossomed this year at Blue School.
